What is International GIS Day?

International GIS Day, created by Esri Inc. in 1999 as part of Geography Awareness Week, is an annual event that celebrates and promotes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and its associated spatial technologies.

Brisbane’s GIS Day is the largest in the world! It’s all about bringing people together from across the city and the country – school kids, uni students, professionals, businesses and everyone in between – to showcase the exciting future of spatial technology.
